The Leftovers
Season 2 – starring Justin Theroux

Starts Thursday, October 8 at 8.30pm EDT

Exclusive to Foxtel’s showcase channel

Critically acclaimed drama series The Leftovers, starring Justin Theroux, returns to Foxtel’s showcase channel for a second season on Thursday, October 8 at 8.30pm EDT.

The Leftovers takes place three years after a global event, the ‘Departure’, where 2% of the world’s population inexplicably vanished.

140 million people, gone in an instant. No country, no state, no city was spared, except for one small town in eastern Texas – Jarden. Population: 9261. Departures: zero.

Season two follows Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) who has retired from his post as Chief of Police of Mapleton, New York, to move his new family to Jarden, Texas.

Jarden is the setting for the tale of two families: the Garveys, who have moved to this special place and whose lives were forever changed by the Departure, and the Murphys, a local family, who seem to have been spared from an event that shook the rest of the world.

But just because the Garveys have fled Mapleton to a place untouched by tragedy, doesn’t mean they have escaped the drama of their past.

Co-starring Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccelstone and Liv Tyler, The Leftovers is created by Damon Lindelof, Emmy winner for Lost and acclaimed novelist Tom Perrotta.

Described as “the most creatively bold series on television” by The Hollywood Reporter, The Leftovers is produced for HBO and is exclusive to Foxtel’s showcase channel in Australia.
