Penny Dreadful Season 2
Hannibal Season 3
The Brink
Ray Donovan Season 3

July is set to be a huge month for Foxtel’s showcase channel, with four exclusive series premiering across the month.

On Thursday, July 2 at 7.30pm EST, the gripping psychological thriller PENNY DREADFUL returns for a shadowy second season in which the hunters, some of literature’s most famously terrifying characters, become the hunted.

Season two opens with Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) barraged by an onslaught of disturbing occult images brought on by the mysterious Evelyn Poole (Helen McCrory). Because of the massacre he committed in the Mariner’s Inn, Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) decides to leave London. Under pressure from The Creature (Rory Kinnear), Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) works to bring Brona (Billie Piper) back to life. After Mina’s funeral, Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) returns to London to learn that a whole new evil is haunting Vanessa.

On Thursday, July 2 at 8.30pm EST, the dark and haunting series HANNIBAL returns for season three, revealing the fates of characters hanging in the balance and their continuing psychological cat-and-mouse games.

After the shocking events of the season finale, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) is on the run in Europe – accompanied by his psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) – sporting a new identity but servicing the same insatiable appetite. As the lives of Will (Hugh Dancy), Jack (Laurence Fishburne) and Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) converge toward Hannibal again, their deadly dance turns in startling and unexpected ways, and nothing will ever be the same again.

On Monday, July 13 at 7.30pm EST, brand new HBO comedy series THE BRINK makes its Australian debut.

The half-hour dark comedy series focuses on a geopolitical crisis and its effect on three disparate and desperate men: Walter Larson (Tim Robbins), the US Secretary of State; Alex Talbot (Jack Black), a lowly Foreign Service officer; and Zeke Tilson (Pablo Schreiber), an ace Navy fighter pilot. These three compromised souls must pull through the chaos around them to save the planet from World War Three. The show also features Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Carla Gugino and Eric Ladin.

On Monday, July 13 at 8.30pm EST season three of RAY DONOVAN premieres.

Set in the sprawling mecca of the rich and famous, Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) is the go-to guy who makes the problems of LA’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls disappear. The powerful drama unfolds when his father (Jon Voight) is unexpectedly released from prison, setting off a chain of events that shakes the Donovan family to its core. Season three sees Katie Holmes and Ian McShane joining the cast. Playing shrewd and chic businesswoman Paige Finney, Katie Holmes’ character goes head to head with Ray, as he carries out dirty work for her billionaire producer father Andrew Finney (McShane).
