Foxtel stars to attend the
61st TV WEEK Logie Awards
with a record 20 nominations

With a record 20 nominations, a star-studded Foxtel contingent will join the celebrations of the TV WEEK Logie Awards this Sunday at The Star on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

The Wentworth cast will walk the red carpet with nominees Leah Purcell (Most Outstanding Actress), Robbie Magasiva (Most Outstanding Actor), Celia Ireland (Most Outstanding Supporting Actress), and Bernard Curry (Most Outstanding Supporting Actor) joined by Susie Porter, Kate Atkinson, Katrina Milosevic, Tammy MacIntosh, Kate Jenkinson, Rarriwuy Hick, and Jacquie Brennan.

Wentworth, currently in its seventh series on FOX SHOWCASE, is also in the running for both the Most Outstanding Drama Series and Most Popular Drama Program. The internationally celebrated drama made history last year when it was the first to win both awards.

Marta Dusseldorp (Most Popular Actress) and Frankie J. Holden (Most Outstanding Supporting Actor) will represent the much-loved A Place To Call Home, which was fondly farewelled with its sixth season in 2018.

Secret City: Under The Eagle’s Danielle Cormack, a nominee for Most Outstanding Actress, will be supported by castmates Rob Collins and Sacha Horler with the second season of the series up for Most Outstanding Drama. The political drama’s first season won two Logie Awards in 2017.

Fighting Season’s Ewen Leslie (Most Outstanding Supporting Actor) will also be there. Unable to attend due to filming commitments are fellow Most Outstanding Actor nominees Fighting Season’s Jay Ryan and Mr Inbetween’s Scott Ryan.

Essie Davis and Sam Reid, stars of Lambs of God, will be there ahead of the Foxtel Original drama’s premiere on FOX SHOWCASE on Sunday, July 21 at 8:30pm with a movie-length double-episode.

The Selling Houses Australia trio – Andrew Winter, Shaynna Blaze, and Charlie Albone – will attend with the program up for Most Popular Lifestyle Program.

Sam Neill will be at the awards with the documentary series The Pacific: In the Wake of Captain Cook with Sam Neill nominated for Most Outstanding Factual or Documentary Program. Ron Iddles – often referred to as the best homicide detective Australia has ever known – will also attend with Ron Iddles: The Good Cop vying for the same award.

David Speers will attend with SKY NEWS a nominee for Most Outstanding News Coverage for its reporting on the Liberal Leadership Spill.

FOX SPORTS will be represented by Yvonne Sampson, Jessica Yates, Sarah Jones, Adam Gilchrist and Brendon Julian, with its cricket coverage (Australia v India – Second Test Match in Perth) nominated for Most Outstanding Sports Coverage.

Foxtel’s nominations also include three-time Logie Award-winning Gogglebox Australia for both Most Popular Entertainment Program (the award it won in 2018) and Most Outstanding Entertainment Program.

The 61st TV WEEK Logie Awards will take place for the second time at The Star on Queensland’s Gold Coast this Sunday, June 30.
