Foxtel announced today it has signed iconic Australian movie host and critic Margaret Pomeranz who will join Foxtel Movies Masterpiece and the soon to launch Foxtel Arts channel.

Pomeranz will co-host a new weekly program – SCREEN – with respected actor/director/producer/journalist Graeme Blundell.

SCREEN will guide viewers through what to watch and what to avoid across movies, television and online in a panel show format created specifically for Margaret and Graeme, along with guests and special interviews.

On Foxtel Movies Masterpiece, Margaret will present a weekly movie of her choice each Wednesday from 8.30pm, bringing Foxtel viewers her un-rivalled expertise and insight of the silver screen. Margaret Pomeranz Presents will premiere on March 4.

With a career spanning almost three decades co-hosting The Movie Show on SBS and At The Movies on ABC with David Stratton, Margaret Pomeranz is Australia’s most recognised, loved and highly respected movie critic.

The national television critic for The Australian newspaper, Graeme Blundell has been associated with many pivotal moments in Australian theatre, film and television and has appeared in more than 40 films and hundreds of hours of television. An award-winning director and prolific journalist, he joins the Foxtel Arts channel in addition to his hosting duties on Foxtel’s Masterpiece and FOX Classics channels.

Foxtel Arts will showcase the full breadth of artistic forms including the world’s finest opera and ballet productions, theatre, dance, cabaret, classical and contemporary performance as well as informative documentary specials and series from the diverse world of cinema, literature, music, visual art, artists and the history of ideas and techniques from which art is created. The channel will launch in late March on Foxtel.
