Island Parties return to Channel [V] this summer
Swedish dance duo Galantis kick off the party season

Summer’s almost here and as the weather heats up, the Channel [V] Island Parties return to rock Sydney Harbour. Once again, this party season Channel [V] will host exclusive performances with some of the hottest acts from Australia and around the world against the city’s most iconic backdrop, the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

With last year’s headliners including Mark Ronson, Hilltop Hoods, The Wombats, Charli XCX and Royal Blood, this year’s Island Parties are set to once again deliver the hottest artists and pumping tunes.

The first [V] Island Party kicks off with a Stereosonic theme with Galantis on the decks performing to competition winners and VIPs on Monday November 30. Stereosonic featuring Galantis is touring nationally in November and December and tickets are available now from Moshtix.

Galantis are a Swedish electro pop superduo made up of Christian Karlsson from Miike Snow and Linus Eklöw from Style of Eye.

Karlsson (the man behind hits like Britney Spears’ “Toxic”) met Eklöw (the man behind hits like Icona Pop’s “I Love It”) at the Robotberget studio in Stockholm and their mutual admiration quickly turned into a project when the duo set up shop in Stockholm. They began recording and released their first single “Smile” in late 2013 followed by the hit single “Runaway (U & I)” in 2014, while their debut effort, Pharmacy, landed this year also featured two new singles, “Gold Dust” and “Peanut Butter Jelly”.

Galantis have a reputation for creating a thrilling live show that matches their music’s innovation and spirit. With infectious energy on stage, the duo will be performing at Stereosonic dance music festivals around the country and exclusively for Channel [V] at the Island Party.
