Hisense Becomes Official Sponsor of 2018 FIFA World Cup™

SYDNEY, 6 April 2017 – Hisense Australia is thrilled to announce today that its parent company has become the Official Television Sponsor of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. As an Official FIFA World Cup Sponsor, Hisense will engage in a number of global marketing and advertising activities for the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and lead up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

It’s no doubt that Australia is a country that loves soccer with the previous tournament matches reaching millions of homes and Australia accounting for 71% of all of the Oceania region audience1. With consumers embracing the brand to become a market leader in televisions in Australia, the timing of this sponsorship is perfect for Hisense to become the Official Television of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and continue to build its solid brand awareness particularly with its active engagement in sports marketing with high-profile sporting events and teams.

The sponsorship means that the company will have access to marketing opportunities both on and off the pitch, with branding across two upcoming FIFA events including billboards, stadiums and on-screen credits.*

It is expected that the sponsorship of the 2018 FIFA World Cup will see Hisense reach over 200 territories across the globe, greatly enhancing its brand exposure both locally and internationally.

Hisense Australia’s Head of Marketing Andre Iannuzzi said, “The FIFA World Cup brings together the highest levels of competition and prestige in global football, making it the perfect sports event for us to be a part of. Millions of Australians tune in to the FIFA World Cup every four years, and for them to see Hisense as a key part of all that excitement is such a great opportunity for our brand both here in Australia and across the globe. ”

In addition to offering its technical expertise and products throughout the 2018 World Cup, Hisense will engage in a joint research and development initiative with FIFA to further push the boundaries of display technology.

FIFA Secretary General, Fatma Samoura said: “FIFA is delighted to welcome Hisense on board as an official sponsor of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. We look forward to working with them to promote the competition, particularly in China, where the company is market leader in consumer electronics, where the popularity of football continues to grow.”

Hisense has sponsored major sporting events and teams including The Australian Open, 2017 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix, The NBL and the UEFA’s Euro 2016.
