The Bastard Executioner swings his blade on Presto

The dark medieval drama streams exclusive to Presto

Presto today announced the exclusive SVOD arrival of The Bastard Executioner, a blood-soaked, medieval epic that unfolds during a time rife with rebellion and political upheaval. A special event series from acclaimed producer Kurt Sutter (‘Sons of Anarchy’), The Bastard Executioner is available to stream on Presto from today.

Set in 14th century Northern Wales, The Bastard Executioner tells the the story of Wilkin Brattle (Lee Jones), a warrior whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger implores him to set aside his sword and lead the life of another man: a journeyman executioner.

Wilkin walks a tight rope between protecting his true identity while also serving his mysterious destiny. Wilkin is guided by a mystical healer named Annora (Katy Sagal ‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘Married with Children’). In addition to being under Annora’s control, Wilkin is manipulated by Milus Corbett (Stephen Moyer ‘True Blood’), a devious Chamberlain with political aspirations.

Wilkin traverses political and emotional pitfalls on his way to understanding his greater purpose – all while being driven by an increasing romantic connection with Baroness Lady Love Ventris (Flora Spencer-Longhurst ‘Leonardo’).

Shaun James, Presto TV CEO, said, “The Bastard Executioner is not for the faint-hearted but it is just the kind of intriguing drama that will draw in TV lovers, eager to get their fill of treachery and 14th century political plotting. We’re delighted to bring this medieval drama exclusive to Presto.”
