Top 49 Finalists Announced and Wild Card Nominations Open
The [V] OZ ARTIST OF THE YEAR AWARD is back and this year it’s bigger and better than ever. Yesterday Channel [V] exclusively announced the Top 49 finalists on-air and officially opened nominations for the WILD CARD 50th finalist chosen by the fans at vmusic.com.au.
Channel [V] is synonymous with amplifying home-grown Aussie musical talent and for over a decade [V] OZ ARTIST OF THE YEAR has recognised 50 of the most loved and played Australian artists of each year. Notable past Award recipients include Seth Sentry, 360 and Silverchair with Channel [V] spring-boarding these artists to the front of the pack both in Australia and overseas.
The 2014 Top 49 includes the cream of the Aussie crop with last year’s winner 5 Seconds of Summer, as well as Iggy Azalea, Jessica Mauboy, Sia, Flume, Chet Faker, and many more.
Channel [V] is giving Aussies the opportunity to have their say in who should claim the prestigious title by selecting the final 50th nomination as the WILD CARD. Nominations are now open, voting closes Friday September 26 with the WILD CARD winner announced the following day Saturday September 27 at 10.30am on Channel [V].
Voting is easier than ever before through vmusic.com.au on any device. By voting for your favourite artist you will automatically be entered into the draw to win a $10,000 major cash prize. The prize winner will be revealed alongside the [V] OZ ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2014 announcement on THE RIFF: LIVE show Saturday December 6 at 10.30am.
Be sure to vote for the most deserving artist from week to week as Channel [V] whittles nominations down from 50 to one. The elimination rounds see the 10 artists with the least amount of votes being cut from the pack each week. Tune into the [V] OZ ARTIST 2014: THE TOP 25 on Sunday October 19 at 4pm followed by the [V] OZ ARTIST 2014: THE TOP 10 Sunday November 9 at 4pm, and the [V] OZ ARTIST 2014: TOP 3 ANNOUNCEMENT on THE RIFF: LIVE Saturday November 15 at 10.30am.
Vote as many times as you like to boost your chances of winning the major cash prize, voting closes Saturday November 29 at 11am.
