The curtain goes up on Presto Check it out.

New service offers subscribers recent movies and classic hits available from Foxtel Movies for $19.99* a month

Shaun James appointed Director, Presto & VOD

Presto, the new online movies service, launches tomorrow. The service offers a monthly pass to stream Foxtel Movies both live and on-demand, offering access to Foxtel’s popular movie content with a regularly updating collection of great films, ad-break free, for $19.99* a month.

Today’s news comes as Presto confirms a new addition to its movie channels. Starting 10 April, the newly announced Foxtel Movies Disney will also be a part of the great programming available to Presto subscribers, bringing with it the magic of Disney’s much-loved movies including a range of classic titles, contemporary films and Disney-Pixar box office hits.

Presto’s movie line up, available to customers as part of their subscription, features an impressive collection of blockbuster releases from 2013 such as: A Good Day to Die Hard, Iron Man 3, Identity Thief and Oz the Great and Powerful along with a host of others and a huge collection of past favourites.

Throughout the month of March, additional hits will join Presto including Star Trek: Into Darkness, The Lone Ranger and This is the End, followed in April and May by The Great Gatsby, Fast & Furious 6, Monsters University, World War Z and Elysium. All of these titles and more will be available with a Presto subscription.

Shaun James has been appointed as Director Presto & VOD. Shaun is currently General Manager of Music Channels and Head of Digital for Foxtel Networks Australia. Prior to joining Foxtel in 2012, Shaun spent four years at XYZ Networks as General Manager Music.

Foxtel CEO Richard Freudenstein said, “starting tomorrow, Presto is officially open for business. Last month’s announcement that it was on the way created a big stir and we’re looking forward to sharing Presto’s library of recent favourites and classic hits with Australian movie lovers. Presto is a game changing new way to experience great movies, when and where you want, for a price per week equivalent to what you’ll pay for just one standard iTunes movie rental.”

“I’m delighted that Shaun James, who is such as strong member of the Foxtel team, has agreed to take on this role. Under his leadership, Presto is certain to go from strength to strength.”

Presto is available as a special offer to new customers for $4.99* in their first month. Subscribers can connect to Presto in minutes and are free to come and go from the service on a monthly basis, with no lock-in contract, and without the need to buy through a basic tier.

The new movie service features an intuitive interface and delivers the best in local and international movies including curated collections, recommendations and critics’ reviews from Rotten Tomatoes.

All Presto movies are ad-break-free and the service offers films from all eight Foxtel Movies live channels including: Foxtel Movies Disney^, Foxtel Movies Premiere, Foxtel Movies Comedy, Foxtel Movies Romance, Foxtel Movies Thriller, Foxtel Movies Action, Foxtel Movies Family, and Foxtel Movies Masterpiece, as well as on demand movies from these channels.
