“This is great news for Foxtel subscribers,” he said. “AFL fans know that Fox Footy provides superlative coverage of their game, with both great match coverage and informative and entertaining magazine shows that cover every aspect of the competition.

“This deal builds on the strong set of rights Fox Footy has today and ensures that the channel will be the only place where you can see every game of every round, including the final series (excluding the Grand Final), live for many years to come.

“If you love AFL you need to be a Foxtel subscriber, and with our recently reduced pricing there’s really no reason not to sign up.

“Under this deal, for the first time, Fox Footy will be able to be broadcast on all devices, which means that if you subscribe to Foxtel Play or use Foxtel Go, you’ll now be able to watch all games on PCs and Macs as well as tablets, phones and games consoles.

Filmed across the picturesque Shoalhaven region of NSW’s South Coast, Village Vets Australia is an observational documentary series that follows country vets and long-time best mates Dr. James Carroll and Dr. Anthony Bennett as they work with animals big and small.

The 8-part 1-hour series will highlight the bonds between people and their pets, farmers and their animals, between the members of a tight-knit community and at the heart of them all – the friendship of two great mates.

General Manager of The LifeStyle Channels, Hannah Barnes, said: “Village Vets Australia is a broad heartland lifestyle show that has connected with our viewers both on-air and among our social community, in a really emotional way.

“We’re pleased to welcome James and Anthony – along with a host of wonderful animals and their owners – back to LifeStyle, for more fun and heart-warming stories from beautiful Berry and its surrounds.”

James and Anthony said: “We’re thrilled to be filming season 2 of Village Vets Australia. The boys are a natural talent and we’re grateful to the community of Berry for welcoming us in to their lives again for a second season.”

Village Vets Australia is an original concept by Rodney Richmond and is produced by Screentime, a Banijay Group company, exclusively for Foxtel’s The LifeStyle Channel.

MEDIA RELEASE: Tuesday December 9, 2014

Two super heroes, two shows, one mega event!

Crossover episodes to air back-to-back on FOX8

Wednesday January 28 from 7.30pm

Foxtel has confirmed that Australian fans of THE FLASH and ARROW will get to see the epic crossover episodes back-to-back on Wednesday January 28 from 7.30pm on FOX8.

This special event will see the two super heroes – the Flash/ Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and the Arrow/ Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) come together to tackle threats to their respective cities.

FOX8’s new super hero drama THE FLASH follows Barry Allen, a CSI investigator who gains the ability to move at super-speed after a particle accelerator accident and dedicates his life to fighting crime and helping the residents of his city.

Airing in Australia first on FOX8, the series from Warner Bros. Television launched last Wednesday and became the highest overnight season premiere on Foxtel in 2014, as well as the highest rated series launch on FOX8 since 2011.

Based on the characters from DC Comics and executive produced by the ARROW creative team of Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter, characters from THE FLASH first appeared on the hugely successful Warner Bros. TV series ARROW and now, both exist in the same universe.

While ARROW is usually seen first on the Nine Network in Australia, a special arrangement between Foxtel and Nine will allow viewers to see the two episodes back-to-back on one night and one channel – FOX8.

In the first part of the crossover event, THE FLASH episode “Flash vs. Arrow,” airing at 7.30pm, Barry is thrilled when Oliver, Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) come to Central City to investigate a case involving a deadly boomerang. Excited about teaming up with his friend, Barry asks Oliver if he’d like to help him stop Roy Bivolo (guest star Paul Anthony), the meta-human Barry is currently tracking. Bivolo causes people to lose control of their emotions and has been using that skill to rob banks.

Unfortunately, the superhero partnership doesn’t go as smoothly as Barry expected. When Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn, Barry sets out to prove him wrong by attempting to stop Bivolo alone. However, when Bivolo infects Barry and sets him on a raging rampage, everyone is in danger, and the only one who can stop him is the Arrow.

In part two, the ARROW episode “The Brave and the Bold,” airing at 8.30pm, Oliver, Arsenal (Colton Haynes) and Diggle track down the location of a boomerang-wielding killer named Digger Harkness (guest star Nick E. Tarabay) but are surprised when they come face to
face with an A.R.G.U.S. team. Diggle asks Lyla (gust star Audrey Marie Anderson) why A.R.G.U.S. is involved, but she defers until Harkness attacks the building, killing several agents and targeting Lyla. The Arrow joins the fight and gets help from an old friend The Flash. Harkness manages to get away and Oliver teams up with Barry again to find him before he can get to Lyla. When Harkness plants five bombs in the city that are timed to explode at the same time, both teams must come together to save the city.

When the two episodes aired in the US over consecutive nights on The CW Network they were a massive success, with THE FLASH racing to its most watched episode since its record-breaking series premiere, while ARROW achieved an all-time series high rating in Adults 18-49.

The cross-over event will be seen in Australia first on FOX8 on Wednesday January 28 from 7.30pm.

Featuring a stellar lineup of Australian talent, this unique 10 x 30 minute series celebrates the power of human connections and the ways in which they shape and define us.

Each week, a celebrated Australian is interviewed alongside a person who truly matters to them, as they both openly explore and share their relationship with one another.

Hosted by Angela Pulvirenti, also the show’s creator and producer, The Truth About Us explores a diverse range of people and types of relationships, from father and son to childhood friends, to long time, life-changing collaborations.

All have one thing in the common – they are sitting beside someone they love and respect and as a result, the interviews are intimate, authentic and often incredibly revealing.

Episode one features Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe and his colourful onset costumer and dresser, 72 year-old New Yorker Mickey Castellano.

Friends and collaborators for almost 20 years, Mickey and Russell first met on the 1995 set of Virtuosity and from 1998 to 2010, Mickey travelled the world with Russell on every film he made.

“The Truth About Us was a truly enjoyable experience for me and an overwhelming one for my long time mate and costumer, Mickey Castellano. Mickey has never been interviewed before on any medium, let alone about his connection to me,” said Russell Crowe.
