A 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS POP-UP CHANNEL

It’s time to usher in the silly season as Foxtel Movies presents a dedicated 12 Days of Christmas pop up channel from Wednesday, December 14 from 6.00am AEDT through to Christmas Day.

Featuring an amazing lineup of festive films, airing 24 hours a day all the way through to December 25, the pop up channel will be available to all Foxtel Movies and Foxtel Platinum subscribers on Channel 400. The movies will also be available on demand during the pop up period.

The 12 Days of Christmas pop up channel will feature a huge lineup of 40 films in the lead up to Christmas, from worldwide smash hit Home Alone to perennial Christmas classic Miracle on 34th Street.

The following festive favourites are included in the 12 day event:

December 14: The Family Stone – The son of a bohemian family brings his high-powered New York girlfriend home for a Christmas from hell. Stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Diane Keaton, Dermot Mulroney and Claire Danes.

December 15: Fred Claus – Santa’s brother Fred discovers that a scheming efficiency expert is out to shut down Christmas forever. Stars Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, Elizabeth Banks.

December 16: Four Holidays – A self-centred yuppie couple decide to spend Christmas Day visiting all of their divorced parents. Stars Reese Witherspoon, Vince Vaughn, Robert Duvall.

December 17: Elf – Once upon a Christmas Eve, an orphan baby crawled into Santa’s bag of gifts and was taken to the North Pole. Stars Will Ferrell and James Caan.

December 18: Home Alone – An 8-year-old boy is left home alone by his family and ends up using all his wits to foil two dastardly thieves. Stars Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.

December 19: Jack Frost – A father, who can’t keep his promises, dies in a car accident. One year later, he returns as a snowman. Stars Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, Joseph Cross.

December 20: Angels Sing – A gift from a mysterious stranger helps Michael find the Christmas spirit that he lost in his childhood. Stars Harry Connick Jr, Willie Nelson, Connie Britton.

December 21: A Christmas Melody – A Christmas Melody revolves around Kristin, a beautiful divorcee who is a talented clothing designer and her daughter. Stars Lacey Chabert, Brennan Elliot, Kathy Najmy.

December 22: Jingle All the Way – A frantic father tries to buy a Turbo Man action figure for his son on Christmas Eve. Stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Belushi, Phil Hartman.

December 23: Love the Coopers – The Coopers try and survive their annual Christmas celebration. Stars Diane Keaton, John Goodman, Steve Martin.

December 24: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas – Halloweentown’s pumpkin king plots to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role. Stars Chris Sarandon, Catherine O’Hara, William Hickey.

December 25: Miracle on 34th Street – The story focuses on the impact of a department store Santa Claus named Kris Kringle, who claims to be the real Santa. Stars Maureen O’Hara, Natalie Wood, Edmund Gwenn.

The 12 Days of Christmas pop-up channel will be available in HD to Foxtel Movies and Foxtel Platinum subscribers on channel 400. Channel 400 is now home to a series of hugely popular and exclusive pop-up movie events.

The Christmas movies will also be available to subscribers when and where they want, both live – and on demand with an internet connected iQ box.

For customers without an internet connected iQ box, Foxtel’s 12 Days of Christmas pop up movies can be recorded to a Foxtel iQ set top box and played back at their convenience.
