A star-studded line-up of sporting talent will appear in tonight’s episode of THE RECRUIT, including Olympic legends Ian Thorpe and Stephanie Rice, and AFL superstar Jonathan Brown.
With the focus this week being on “pressure”, Ian Thorpe makes a surprise visit to the Recruits during a fitness swimming session. He gives the boys a few pointers on how to improve their swimming then chats to them about how he handled pressure across his long career. With this week being the first Gay Pride round in the AFL, he also talks about how each of them should stand up and realise that it is not acceptable to tolerate any kind of homophobia in sport.
Later in the episode, Stephanie Rice takes part in the weekly Team Challenge at Melbourne’s Half Moon Bay beach. The boys are shocked to see they will be competing against the ‘Summer of Surf’ Iron Women, and with Stephanie team captain of the girls, this challenge proves a lot tougher than they first thought.
Episode 4 of THE RECRUIT also features AFL superstar Jonathan Brown who helps out with this week’s Captain’s Challenge – a tightrope walk across the roof of Etihad Stadium.
THE RECRUIT is produced by McGuire Media exclusively for Foxtel, and premieres on FOX8 each Wednesday at 8.30pm. Encore screenings can be seen on FOX FOOTY on Sundays at 9.00pm and Wednesdays at 6.00pm.
