Foxtel dominates Emmy nominations

67th PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS

To be broadcast LIVE and EXCLUSIVELY
Monday, September 21 from 10am on FOX8

Foxtel’s massive line-up of international hit shows have triumphed as nominations for the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning.

An impressive 245 nominations across 70 Foxtel programs have been received covering a wide range of programming from popular channels including showcase, The Comedy Channel, BBC First, SoHo, FOX8 and Arena.

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast LIVE and exclusively on FOX8 from 10am on Monday September 21.

The multiple award-winning drama series Games of Thrones (showcase) leads the way with a staggering 24 nominations including Most Outstanding Drama series and will go head to head in the same coveted category with Mad Men (showcase) which received eleven nominations for its final season.

Many of showcase’s other blockbuster series also secured multiple nominations including Orange Is The New Black, Boardwalk Empire, Veep, Girls, The Newsroom, True Blood, Ray Donovan and The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.

Foxtel’s The Comedy Channel also swept the pool with 61 nominations in total for shows including Saturday Night Live: 40th Anniversary Special, Inside Amy Schumer and Silicon Valley each receiving seven nominations.

The hottest US talk-show, Foxtel’s exclusive Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is up for four nominations, including Outstanding Variety Talk Series.

Much loved Award ceremonies were among the revered nominations with The 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards (FOX8), The 57th Annual Grammy Awards (FOX8) and the 68th Annual Tony Awards (Foxtel Arts) garnering eight nominations between them.

Other popular nominated programs screening only on Foxtel include Shameless (SoHo), The Amercians (SoHo), The Walking Dead (FX) Deadliest Catch (Discovery) Project Runway (Arena) and Top Chef (Arena), along with The Honorable Women and Wolf Hall both appearing on BBC First.
