Forget Trump, forget Brexit, Foxtel Play has the latest Scandal

Presto favourite makes the move to Foxtel with seasons 1-5; plus, new episodes of season 6 to premiere on Foxtel on demand

Foxtel today turned up the political heat announcing that the incredibly popular politically charged drama, Scandal is available on demand via Foxtel and Foxtel Play. Originally airing on Presto, the Washington DC-based favourite has landed just as the sixth season has taken to the screen.

From today, Foxtel Play subscribers can instantly access the entire series including seasons 1-5 in full, along with this year’s already aired episodes from season 6. Foxtel will continue fast tracking every episode from season 6 of this gripping and award winning series to stream ad-free and on demand. Scandal is available to Foxtel Play subscribers on the Pop or Drama pack starting from only $15 per month.

Scandal stars Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, a former media consultant to the President, who has dedicated her life to protecting and defending the public images of the nation’s elite by keeping their secrets under wraps. Pope leads a team who specialise in cleaning up the lives of other people, but who cannot seem to do the same for themselves.

Joining Pope in her political manoeuvres are associates Quinn (Katie Lowes), who has a complicated secret history, and former CIA hacker extraordinaire Huck (Guillermo Diaz). Scandal also features Elizabeth North (Australia’s Portia De Rossi) as the chairperson of the Republican National Committee, President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) and First Lady Melody “Mellie” Grant (Bellamy Young).

Deanne Weir, Foxtel’s Managing Director – Content Aggregation and Wholesale, said, “With all of the ups-and-downs of today’s political climate, it’s great to be able to unwind with a bit of edge of your seat drama we can enjoy, stress-free. Scandal was one of the most watched TV series that streamed on Presto and it has been a breakout hit for fans everywhere. We’re thrilled to bring the entire series to Foxtel subscribers with each new episode premiering, on Foxtel on demand, in-line with the US broadcast.”

For fans hungry for even more political drama or comedy, Foxtel is also streaming seasons 1-5 of the Emmy Award-winning comedy, VEEP, starring the hilarious Julia Louis-Dreyfus; the six part Foxtel mini-series, Secret City, which follows a deep conspiracy underlying Canberra politics; The Good Wife (seasons 1-7), a high-impact drama filled with political corruption. Scandal’s Kerry Washington also stars in Confirmation, in a dramatic portrayal of Anita Hill during Clarence Thomas’ US Supreme Court nomination hearings.

Foxtel Play customers can enjoy their programming via eligible Samsung, Sony and LG Smart TVs, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 & 4, selected Samsung Blu-Ray and home theatre systems, PC and Mac computers, and Telstra TV.
