The Daily Show with Trevor Noah
Tuesdays to Fridays from September 29 at 7.30pm AEST
only on The Comedy Channel and Express from the US

Foxtel announced today it will exclusively broadcast the hotly anticipated brand new series of the irreverently relevant, Emmy-award winning series The Daily Show only on The Comedy Channel.

Taking centre stage of the forthcoming new season is provocative comedian Trevor Noah, who will be taking the reigns from world-renowned host Jon Stewart.

The series will air just after the US broadcast nightly from Tuesday, September 29 at 7.30pm AEST.

Describing itself as a fake news program, The Daily Show draws its comedy and satire from recent news stories, political figures, media organisations, and often aspects of the show itself. The biggest newsmakers – from political heavyweights to real news journalists to Hollywood hotshots – give the most hilariously informative interviews anywhere. The series has won 23 Emmy Awards.

Noah is a South African comedian, TV and radio host, and actor who first joined The Daily Show in 2014 as a contributor.

He made his US television debut in 2012 on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and has also appeared on Late Show with David Letterman, becoming the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on either late-night show. Now, Noah brings with him a wealth of television experience having hosted numerous shows, including his own late-night talk show in his native country, Tonight with Trevor Noah.

Headlining Just For Laughs festivals around the world and performing at his own sell-out shows, Noah is a comedic force on the stand-up circuit with countless fans from all corners of the globe. He presented his one man show “The Racist” at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe in a sold out run that became the buzz of audiences and journalists, and the same year was the subject of David Paul Meyer’s award-winning documentary film You Laugh But It’s True which tells the story of Trevor’s remarkable career in post-apartheid South Africa. In 2014, Trevor Noah performed his hilarious “Lost in Translation” stand-up to a full house at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Just For Laughs Sydney comedy festival, and recently was a leading Gala host at the Just For Laughs Montreal festival in July 2015.

Critically acclaimed and wildly popular Melbourne comic, Ronny Chieng has been named as one of three new correspondents for The Daily Show. Chieng is a Malaysian-born Chinese stand-up comedian who studied law at the “fifth-best law school in the world” at University of Melbourne, and launched his hugely successful comedy career in Australia from 2012. Chieng joins actress Desi Lydic, best known for the MTV comedy-drama series Awkward and the movie We Bought a Zoo, and actor, stand-up comic and radio personality Roy Wood Jr.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah with its new line-up premieres exclusively on The Comedy Channel Tuesdays to Fridays from September 29 at 7.30pm only on Foxtel and Express from the US.
