Foxtel today proudly announced that it has signed chart-topping superstar Guy Sebastian as the ambassador for new internet TV service Foxtel Play.

The number one recording artist, whose hit song Battle Scars recently went platinum in the US, will become brand ambassador for Foxtel Play and will be featured across marketing communications and promotions for the new service.

Foxtel Play is a new internet TV service, offering even more Australians access to Foxtel’s unbeatable programming. It enables customers with a broadband connection to watch programs from Foxtel’s amazing range of sports, drama, entertainment, documentary and movie channels live or on catch-up with no lock-in contract and no installation costs.

Guy Sebastian said: “It’s a thrill to join such a progressive and dynamic media company like Foxtel. This is an exciting time of our lives as habits change and access to entertainment expands. Foxtel Play is a brilliant example of what a game changer this new service is.”

Foxtel Play features over 40 live channels including Fox Sports 1, 2 and 3, Foxtel Movie channels, Showcase, FOX8, Arena, Lifestyle, History, Discovery, A&E, National Geographic, UKTV, FX, SoHo, MTV, Universal Channel, ESPN, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel as well as hundreds of catch up video on-demand titles.

The highly acclaimed Foxtel Go service is also available to Foxtel Play subscribers as part of their subscription. Customers can access Foxtel Go on up to two registered eligible devices including selected iPads and iPhones and selected Samsung GALAXY smartphones and tablets.

Sebastian was the first Australian Idol winner in 2003. His first solo single Angels Brought Me Here debuted at number one and was the fastest selling Australian Single in ARIA chart history. His debut album Just As I Am continued to break records, and set the stage for a string of success including double platinum album Beautiful Life, double platinum The Memphis Album, and triple platinum song Like it like That. He has won several MTV and Nickelodeon Awards and has appeared on hit shows including American Idol, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and X Factor.
