Channel [V]’s Marty Smiley has only ten hours left on his Learner Driver log book before he can sit his Ps and who better than some of the music industry’s hottest artists to show him the ropes behind the wheel? New series Learner Dri[V]er combines music and driving turning legendary musicians from Australia and around the world into Marty’s driving instructors.

A lot can happen when you put two people in a car together, especially if one is attempting to help the other learn how to drive it. Channel [V]’s Learner Dri[V]er documents Marty’s ten remaining hours divided into ten unique interviews catching the artists off-guard, off stage, and in potentially nail-biting situations!

Expect hilarious moments and intriguing conversation covering a lot of ground (literally) as Marty masters new skills while also chatting about first driving experiences, sharing tour stories and secrets, as well as the latest news from the music world.

Aussie Hip Hop artist Illy, singer songwriter Megan Washington, and many more local and international musicians, singers and DJs will take turns sitting in the instructor’s seat. Each Learner Dri[V]er episode will premiere on Channel [V] fortnightly from Saturday November 15 at 11.00am following The Riff LIVE.

Once the hours are complete, Marty will sit his driver’s license test with the result revealed in April 2015 when pass or fail Channel [V] will celebrate by throwing a massive party complete with a surprise live performance. After having so much support can Marty actually pass the test and get his Ps?

Learner Dri[V]er is made possible thanks to the new Holden Trax turbo.

After winning the Channel [V] Presenter Search in June 2012, native Melbournian Marty Smiley moved to Sydney and has become one of Australia’s favourite TV regulars, co-hosting Channel [V]’s daily live music culture show The Riff, interviewing music mega-stars, and traversing the country covering major music festivals and events.
